Phillip Schofield to make TV comeback in Cast Away

Phillip Schofield has declared he will show up in another television series after leaving this morning 16 months prior.

The 62-year-old will show up in Channel 5’s Cast Away, which sees him abandoned on an island off Madagascar for 10 days.
In an Instagram post, Phillip Schofield stated: “Now you know how I spent my summer! Alone for 10 days, no food, no water, no group.
“My account of endurance, both on a dessert island and off it.”

The three-section reality TV show, which begins on Monday at 21:00 BST, will see the telecaster fight for himself on the uninhabited island.
Without a camera group or creation group, he has recorded his excursion himself with a handheld camera, body camera and a sound pack.
Phillip Schofield said: “This is most definitely a first for me and the only thing I felt compelled to do. It appealed to me on so many levels.

“I’ve as of late had a ton of time to ponder my life, what went right and what turned out badly, yet I’ve generally had the protected arms of loved ones folded over me. This time it’s simply me, no ‘telephone, no solaces, no team and just lip emollient as an extravagance.

“I’m anticipating investigating the island, attempting to attach bunches to get my shelter and scavenging and fighting for myself in the wild with no assistance.

“Perhaps I’ll be Robinson Crusoe, or perhaps I’ll simply be Tom Hanks’ Wilson and discreetly float off into the wild blue yonder.”

In May 2023, Phillip Schofield consented to step down from ITV’s Earlier today “with prompt impact” after over 20 years, following reports of a break with co-moderator Holly Willoughby.

After seven days, he conceded to having had an “indiscreet yet not unlawful” issue with a more youthful male partner and has not made a television appearance since.

Addressing the BBC last June, Schofield said the undertaking was “consensual” yet his “shortcoming” and his “greatest, sorriest mystery”.
